Happy (belated) New Year !!
Okay, so, believe it or not, I was working on a ff last year but for some reason, never got around to finishing it. This year, even a month later than I planned, I was determined to actually post one! This will be my seventh year with the football fandom and oh wow, what a seven years. It’s hard to sum up even just the last two years and express how much this blog and, more importantly, all of you mean to me. Early 2019 Madeleine gave it a good shot I think:
its been a hell of a year for me and while the messy bits are not worth re-hashing, i still dont have the words to express how grateful i am to know you all. celebrating the world cup with france fans on here will always be in my heart. celebrating winning europa with atleti will always be in my heart. watching bvb grow better and stronger will always be in my heart. finding love and happiness in the prem league again will always be in my heart. (there’s not many of us here but) struggling with the quakes this last season will always be in my heart. and honestly, whether you’re listed here or not, if you were part of any of these moments with me, you’ll always be in my heart. …i’d apologize for the sappiness but i’m pretty sure this is my brand at this point.
A good handful of blogs on this list haven’t posted in a while or post more about something else than football now, but we met through football and you guys have been close to my heart for so many years now. I really don’t want to make this intro any longer because you guys know I’m sappy and if I let myself I could go on way too long. During some of the hardest years of my life, football and this blog and you guys have been here. Ups and downs, losses, trades, and all, I’ll always be grateful.
